The family
Three generations of early starts.
Millington's opened in 1979 when Tom Millington took over a baker's shop on Micklegate with a borrowed oven and a hand-painted sign. His daughter Ruth runs the bake now, and her son Sam does the Saturday counter.
We still grind some of our own flour, still fire the oven at 4am, and still keep a notebook of regulars' orders behind the till.
